Summer 2026
Get ready to step into the lab and discover the hidden world of science! In this hands-on summer camp, students will explore exciting topics in Biology and Chemistry while learning how real scientists work.
Campers will begin by learning proper lab safety and etiquette, then move on to using microscopes to investigate the microscopic world, including organisms found in lake water. Students will create their own wet mount slides and observe how cells function in everyday life.
Throughout the week, campers will explore what cells are made of, how nutrients move in and out of cells, and how science connects to the food we eat. They will also investigate germs using Glo Germ activities, practice proper handwashing techniques, and swab everyday surfaces to see what grows in petri dishes.
One of the highlights of the week is extracting DNA from strawberries, along with other fun, quick science experiments designed to spark curiosity and excitement.
This camp is perfect for curious students who enjoy hands-on learning and discovering how science works in the world around them. Come learn, experiment, and explore the amazing worlds of Science!
