UWG Certified Nursing Assistant
CNA classes begin on Saturday, 1/12/13, and continue weekly every Saturday through 3/2/13. Clinicals are tentatively scheduled for Saturday, 3/9/13, 3/16/13 and 3/23/13. Earliest possible Certification Test dates are Saturday 4/20/13 and 4/27/13. Official test dates will be announced at a later date. Points of Interest: 1. You MUST bring a copy of a photo ID (typically a government issued drivers license) and government issued (original, non-laminated) Social Security Card on the first day of class. 2. You MUST complete your TB test no later than 1/19/13. If you are a student, this can be done at the Health Services Department, M-W before 4:00 pm for free or you can get it done elsewhere at your expense. 3. You MUST complete your drug/background check no later than 1/19/13. This should be done through Advantage Students at www.advantagestudents.com. The cost for this is $78.50. (THIS FEE MAY BE HIGHER AND REQUIRE MORE TIME FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS). You should choose UWG Continuing Education when given a choice of schools. DO NOT select UWG - School of Nursing! 4. You ARE NOT PERMITTED to miss any classroom, lab or clinical hours. There are NO makeup hours available. If you miss any hours, you will most likely be rescheduled for a future class. Failure to comply with these rules could result in your dismissal of this class with no refund.

The UWG Certified Nursing Assistant program is approved by the State of Georgia. The course is a total of 88 hours consisting of 31 hours classroom instruction, 33 hours lab and 24 hours of clinical practice at a nursing home.
The registration fee covers instruction, textbooks, required supplies, clinical supervision, 1 set of scrubs, a stethoscope, name badge, and the state exam fee.

Students must also bring a copy of the results of a PPD (TB) test to the first day of class. If you have previously taken a TB test, the results must be current within one calendar year of the scheduled clinical dates for this course.
Students are required to bring a watch with a second hand to class for use during the course and during the certification test at the end of the course.
