Emotional intelligence refers to an individual's ability to recognize emotions, discern between complex emotions, and label emotions appropriately. It is important to exercise emotional intelligence as it relates to oneself and those with whom we interact. In this course, participants will learn about emotional self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, and relationship management. Correlations between emotional intelligence, cultural awareness, and empathy will be explored. Emotional intelligence is helpful when communicating, actively listening, and developing personal leadership styles.
