This course, along with CE200: Leadership: Past, Present, and Future and CE300: The Ethical Leader once completed can earn the student a Mastery in Leadership certificate.
About this course:
Students learn how cultural context affects leadership style, conflict negotiation, and ethical decision making; examine how leaders might impact culture; and develop their multicultural awareness and competencies. Contemporary cases of how leadership varies depending on cultural context are researched. Key geographical regions of the world will be analyzed from a leadership perspective, and an individual cultural experience highlighting the intersection of leadership and culture also occurs.
Who Should Take this Course:
This course is designed for adult learners and employees who would like to either earn a course certificate, Mastery of Leadership Certificate or enroll in college and take a challenge exam to earn credit. This is a Great opportunity for organizations to allow employees who would like to work toward a degree. After completing this course, students may take the challenge exam to assess prior learning and earn academic credit.
What is a Challenge Exam?
Students admitted to UWG and seeking a degree in Organizational Leadership, are eligible to take the challenge exam and potentially earn academic credit.
The challenge exam methodology allows students to demonstrate the course learning outcomes through a multiple choice, true/false, and/or short answer exam. Think of a challenge exam as a cumulative final exam in a given course. All challenge exams are timed events and students are not allowed to use any external materials. In addition, the challenge exam must be proctored.
Objective:
Upon successful completion of the course students will be able to:

- Identify the impact of culture on leadership styles
- Describe multicultural awareness and competencies
- Articulate impact of cultural context on conflict negotiation and ethical decision-making
